AS FOUND: VINTAGE - 7' - 45 RPM - POP RECORD with PICTURE SLEEVE - CIRCA 1976 - 850 - HERB ALBERT and the TIJUANA BRASS - 'CASINO ROYALE'. Side 2: 'THE WALL STREET RAG'. Records from this collection haven't been played for over 50 years. Excellent playing - both sides retain their original gloss without any signs of serious surface abuse. Casino Royale Herb Alpert (Artist), Dusty Springfield (Artist), Burt Bacharach (Composer).

Written for the all-star film extravaganza of the same name, 'Casino Royale' fits the classy/wacky milieu of the movie perfectly. Heavily influenced by Broadway show tunes as well as then-current jazz-pop trends -- like the previous releases by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass -- this tune is a breezy example of Bacharach having fun shifting melodies and tempos, all to great effect. There's a real Southern California feel to the whole affair, and it's like driving through Beverly Hills in a convertible Jaguar on a breezy, autumn afternoon. Elegant and completely fun at the same time, it's one of Bacharach's most innocent and infectious pieces of music.
