Drivers Licence Dd/ref
If you have lived in the District of Columbia for 30 days or more and you drive a vehicle in public, you must get a driver license from DC DMV—unless you are a student, diplomat, active military member, part-time resident, member of Congress, or presidential appointee and are thus eligible for driving privilege reciprocity with your home state or jurisdiction.
All Out-of-Country and US Territories drivers license transactions must be done at the DMV Cranston headquarters. These transactions are not performed at DMV branch locations or AAA branch offices. Citizens may be subject to written and/or road tests.
The computerized knowledge exam is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at the DMV Cranston headquarters. A vision test will be given at this time. These tests are available by reservation only.
- Effective October 1, 2021, only the Arizona Travel ID and Arizona Travel Driver License, a U.S. Passport, and other federally approved identification will be accepted at TSA airport security checkpoints for domestic travel.
